Another one joins the ASIO trend

Just as they promised at this year's winter NAMM, Cakewalk has released the first update to its flagship product Sonar to support ASIO drivers. Sonar will now be able to handle WDM, MME and ASIO-compatible devices. Even though this support is geared towards Digidesign hardware, Cakewalk indicates that their tests on other ASIO hardware devices have been favorable.

This is going to make many people happy. Should we now say that Cakewalk has become one of the big competitors, joining Apple's Logic and soon to be Pinnacle System's Cubase?
