Lemur's Making Music?

lemur3d.jpgHere's something new when it comes to controlling all those software synths on your computers. Jazz Mutant have developed a multi touch interface for using with music applications such as Max/MSP and Reaktor. What's cool about this interface is that it can detect multiple fingers at once, and all of them can control things, such as sliders, keyboards and switches.

If nothing else it does look seriously cool, and is certain to get a bit of discussion at gigs, but it could provide a neat little solution to a flexible controller for soft synths and effects.

The Lemur's not yet in production (to our knowledge) so the dream of grabbing a handful of virtual faders is still a little way off, but with products like this, the future of soft synthesis is looking very interesting indeed.
