Yamaha have released version 1.62 of the mLAN driver, which supports a range of compatible gear. This new version supports both old mLAN gear (such as the 01x, i88x, Kurzweil KSP8, and Presonus gear) as well as the new mLAN devices (such as the N-series mixers and Motif XS). This driver is for Windows XP and Vista (32 bit).
The other main change to this driver is the support for additional WDM channels. The latest mLAN driver now supports 8 WDM channels, and Yamaha claims that these channels are mixed with the first 8 ASIO channels, so WDM support is automatic, and apparently concurrent with ASIO support. The upshot of this, is that mLAN can now be used for surround sound applications such as DVD viewing, and the configuration is simplified.
Yamaha is continuing work on the OS side optimizations for OSX which should bring additional CPU efficiency to the OSX drivers.
