Other have too. Edgar Rice Burroughs, the creator of Tarzan, decided to register the Jungle Call as made famous by his character. Unfortunately, it could not be represented in musical notation and thus the claim was denied. Yet another reason to learn them dots and lines, and in this case, study up on 21st century microtonal notation.
