Logic:Environment Object-Macro

From Sonikmatter

(Redirected from Environment Object:Macro)

Macros don't have much of a function other than making the Environment cleaner. There are several issues with attempting to create a Macro from a group of objects.
1. There is only one Input/Output for a Macro.
2. Cables outside the selected Objects will be disconnected upon creation.
3. There is a finite number of Objects and Cables that can fit into a Macro.
4. If there is no object labeled "Macro-In" or "Macro-Out" then the Input is designated by the Object most upper-left, and the Output is designated by the Object most lower-right.

Before creating a Macro it is best to label the Object that is designated as the Input to "Macro-In" and the Object that is designated as the Output to "Macro-Out." This way the Input and Output are absolute and don't need to be in a specific place.

An Ornament is frequently used in Macros to make them look nice, it can also be used as the Macro-In Object, provided the Output of the Ornament is cabled to the proper Object that was originally designated for the Macro Input.

To create a Macro, select all Objects that are to be included. On the Environment Window Pull-Down: New>Macro.
