Kurzweil:Balance and Amp
From Sonikmatter
The Balance and Amp DSP Block is similar to a balance knob and volume knob on a home stereo.
The Balance part fades between the upper wire and lower wire. A balance control sets these to left and right, though this isn't necessarily the case with Kurzweils. The relative Pans of the two wires is set on the Output page.
The balance part of this block turns one wire down and the other up, depending upon the Adjust parameter. Whatever comes in on the top wire, remains on the top wire, and whatever comes in on the bottom wire remains on the bottom wire.
The Pos part of the block controls the relative Amplitudes, whereas the Amp controls the overall volume of both wires.
This block is useful with Stereo Samples where a Balance control is required, rather than Pan where the entire stereo image is moved.
For Mono Samples, the Panner block is probably more useful.
This block is required if the Balance needs to be changed in real time. The Kurzweils will respond to Pan messages, though they will fixed at the value when the Note On event was received, unless the Balance and Amp, Panner or Upper and Lower Amp blocks are used.
