Kurzweil:Bass Tone Control
From Sonikmatter
The Bass Tone Control DSP Block is a 2 block function that works similar to a low frequency semi-parametric EQ on a mixing desk (or a high shelf EQ). It is identical to the Treble Tone Control Block, except that it affects bass frequencies rather than the treble frequencies
The Bass Tone Control block gives control over the amplitude of frequencies below a certain cutoff frequency.
There are two controls for this block. The cutoff frequency can be modulated, as can the amplitude. One thing to note about the amplitude settings is that the actual position of the cutoff frequency will change with different values of amplitude. This isn't tracked by the Kurzweil but generally, the higher the amplitude the higher the cutoff frequency.
The Bass Tone Control can be used as it was designed, as a low shelf EQ, but you could also substitute it for a low pass filter if you are feeling adventurous. To do this, you will probably want to pad the input signal, to emulate the attenuation of the high frequencies, and boost the amplitude.
Cutting the amplitude will result in an effect akin to a high pass filter with no resonance, but the slope characteristics are different to the other filters available within VAST.
