Kurzweil:Non-Linear

From Sonikmatter

Non-Linear functions are functions that can't be described by an equation of the form y = mx + b, where x is the input and y is the output. Outputs of Non-Linear functions can be difficult to predict the results of because the input may be processed in very complex ways. Examples are FM Synthesis, (or more accurately Phase Synthesis) where one waveform is modulated by another waveform. Other examples include Ring Modulation and Convolution, where one sound in influenced by either itself, or by another sound or signal.
