Kurzweil:RC filter

An RC filter is a Filter built using resistors and capacitors. Such filters are often referred to as analog Filters. They have the advantage of not being limited by Frequency or Nyquvist Frequency limits associated with sampling frequencies.

They are, however, generally more expensive to build than digital filters, and not as reliable, but boy do they sound good, when they are done right.
