Kurzweil:Twin Peaks Bandpass

From Sonikmatter

The Twin Peaks Bandpass filter is identical to the Double Notch with separation filter except that there are peaks either side of the centre frequency (controlled by the width parameter) rather than notches.

This filter isn't as useful other bandpass filters for surgical work, but is useful as an unusual effect. By manipulating both the width and centre frequency in real time some very unique sound textures can be created. Unfortunately this filter doesn't feature any resonance, but it does feature a width control that can considerably thin the sound when thin bands are selected.

Manipulating width in real time, in addition to the other parameters can give some very unique analog synth textures not possible with other synthesizers.

With thin bands, this filter can be useful as a static formant filter for creating vocal tones. It may be necessary to run a number of these filters in series to get the required thin formant bands, and slightly moving one of the bands in one or more of the layers can give some control over relative formant strengths.

Stacking these filters in parallel layers can increase the number of formants that can be controlled.
